About Shihong Zhang:

I came to the United States from mainland China 25 years ago. Started in 2003, this is the 20th year that I am teaching in the United States.

I built a comprehensive Chinese learning program in the Glen Ridge School District encompassing grades 7 through 12, culminating in the Ap Chinese course. Currently, I am teaching Chinese II to AP Chinese for 9-12 grade students.

During the 2021-2022 school year, I received the New Jersey Governor’s Educator Award. Moreover, I attained a permanent Standard supervisor certificate in September, 2023. Concurrently, I am pursuing a Ph.D in Curriculum and Instruction Leadership at Penn State University.

In addition, I have been the founder President of New Jersey Chinese Teachers Association since 2021. As a passionate educator, I am driven to seek new avenues for growth. I am honored to join the ViVid project this year. I hope to learn from the experienced professors and my fellows with different background in the project.
